Throughout her career, Dr. Pullen-Smith was strategically positioned within local and state level public health systems to address the historic and significant disparities in access, treatment and health outcomes for Blacks and other racial/ethnic minorities. Her work focused on influencing policies and funding decisions. Documentation has been a key strategy to affect change.
